European Reports on Community Integration
The first report, Reflections on Community Integration in Great Britain and the US in 1991, owes a thank you to Dr. David Towell, international leader of Britain's Ordinary Life Initiative and supporter of the United Nation's Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN, 2006). The report highlights visits in the United Kingdom conducted in conjunction with a seminar hosted by the King's Fund College in London at the time of the National Development Group.
The second report, also authored by international consultant Julie Ann Racino, is titled: Reflections on a Consultation Visit to the Former Czechoslovakia, now the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic. It was an honor to be hosted by Minister of Health of the Czech Republic, Dr. Martin Bojar with Dr. Kamil Kalina, Dr. Vladimir Komarek of the Faculty Hospital, and a visit by Dr. Dana Janotova of the Psychiatrika Klinikia in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Czechoslovokia was one of the founding members of the UN in 1945 and is a member of the Eastern European Visegrad 4: Republic of Poland, Republic of Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovak Republic.
Changing European Scene in 2013
The long term services and health care systems were currently in review in Europe (2013), and the European Disability Strategy, 2010-2020 priorities affecting 80 million citizens with disabilities is in mid-course. The Eurozone is in process in the European community, and Slovakia adopted the euro in 2009 following formation of the Central Bank in 1998! The report is a part of the European Agenda on Poverty and Social Inclusion, and Social and Family Policies of nation-states.
The reports are designed to also introduce readers to the new European institutions which will have a great impact in the decades to come. The reports contain references from the time of the historic visit, and additional report and articles. The Great Britain set of references is considered historical archives not otherwise available to the public.
